Join Grand Rapids Pride Center, Allegro Coaching, and Eastown Community Association as we celebrate Spring and the warmer weather for a walk in the park! As part of GRPC's commitment to health, we have partnered with these amazing organizations to host a morning of physical and community health. This is a FREE, All Ages, Family Friendly, * Pet-Friendly, event! Don't forget sunscreen!
10:30am meet at the playground at Wilcox Park. Fill your water bottles.
11am Get the blood moving with a group stretch & warm-up with Scott from Allegro Coaching! No need to fear, this warm-up is for beginners to Ninja Warriors (lol)
11:20 **Collect your bags, trash pickers, gloves, vests etc.
11:30am Take it to the streets for a guided mile walk around Eastown as we help pick up trash and recyclables.
12:15 Meet back in the park for a cool down stretch, thank you's, learn of ways you can get involved with Eastown, the Pride Center and all that Allegro Coaching has to offer as well as sign up to volunteer at Pride Fest 2019. Plus collection of refuse for transport to dump or for recycling!
*All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Pet owners assume all responsibility for their pets. All pets must be on a leash. Don't forget your pet waste bags!
**If you have paper grocery bags (not lawn and leaf bags) please bring with you as we are attempting to add no more plastic to our landfills if we don't have to. There will be a limited number of trash pickers and gloves provided by the parks department. If you have your own, please bring.
